Yoco Fees: FAQs

Yoco offers transparent pricing with no lock-in contracts, rentals, or hidden fees. You only pay when you use our services, and the more you transact, the less you pay. Plus, once your rates have been reduced, we’ll never raise them again.

Price Plans

Yoco has multiple price plans:

  • If you signed up with Yoco before 20 November 2023, you’re on the Original Plan.

  • If you signed up with Yoco on or after 20 November 2023, you’re on the Core Plan.

  • If your business processes over R200k per month, you’re eligible for a custom rates structure.

We’ll be expanding our range of pricing options and opening them up to everyone on the platform. Watch this space for more to come!


Original Plan fees

Original Plan fees range from 2.6% (excl. VAT) to 2.95% (excl. VAT) for both card machine payments and Yoco Online Payments. International and AMEX transaction fees range from 3.05% to 3.45% (excl. VAT). All fees charged depend on your turnover.

Core Plan fees

Core Plan card transaction fees range from 2.5% to 2.7% (excl. VAT) for Visa/Mastercard payments. American Express card fees range from 3.0% to 3.4% (excl. VAT). Fees charged depend on your monthly sales and include free settlement on all business days. There’s also a connectivity fee of R49 (incl. VAT) for each card machine you use to transact in a month.

Core Plan online payment fees range from 2.55% to 2.95% for Visa/Mastercard payments. International card fees range from 3.0% to 3.4%. Fees charged depend on your turnover. Instant EFT fees are fixed at 2.0% (excl. VAT) with same day settlement.

Why does Yoco charge a transaction fee?

We charge a transaction fee to cover interbank and processing costs.


Why did Yoco change its transactions fees?

We updated our fees to offer even better rates to customers signing up with Yoco. We will be expanding our range of pricing options soon and making them available to all new and existing customers.


Can I switch from the Original Plan to the Core Plan?

This option isn’t currently available, but we’ll be expanding our range of pricing options soon and giving customers on the Original Plan the opportunity to switch to our new pricing. If you’d like to hear about our new pricing as soon as it’s available, ask our support team to add you to the waiting list.


Where can I view my Price Plan details?

You’ll find everything you need to know about your Price Plan, fees total and your next fees payment date on the Business Settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App. To get to this page, tap on your business logo or name in the menu on the top right of your screen in the Mobile App and bottom left of your screen in the Web App. Alternatively, you can just click here.
