What's changed since 1 June?

We've made some exciting changes to Yoco Plans and fees:

  • Reduced our Yoco transaction rates.

  • Removed connectivity fees across all Yoco Plans.

  • Created three feature-filled Yoco Plans: Core (existing), Plus (new) and Pro (previously Accelerate).

  • Designed our plans with different stages of the business journey in mind.

The Core Plan is our free, no-commitment plan that gives you everything you need to take payments easily, keep track of products and stock, understand how your business is performing, and stay on top of your daily operations. All in one simple system that grows with you.

The Core Plan is the perfect fit for:

  • Small businesses that are building steadily

  • Seasonal businesses that need flexibility without monthly costs

💡 Good to know:

  • The Core Plan is compatible with the full Yoco POS product suite.

  • There are no setup or connectivity fees on any of the Yoco Plans, and the Yoco POS App is free to use across all three plans.

  • You can switch your plan up or down any time you like in the Yoco App (mobile or web) and access your new plan immediately. Click here to find out how to switch.

  2. Go to your Business settings by tapping on your business name or logo.

  3. The name of your current plan will be visible on the Plans tile/widget just below just below your logo and business name.

Transaction fees are applied as a percentage of each transaction you process with Yoco and are based on your transaction volumes:

* In line with industry standards, all transaction fees exclude VAT.

** To qualify for the lower rate, your turnover must average over R50,000 per month for a consecutive 3-month period.

Please note: Online payments typically have slightly higher transaction fees than card machine payments. The good news is that your online and in-person sales work together to help you qualify for lower rates.

VAT on transaction fees

We're required by law to charge 15% VAT on all transaction fees. For example, if you make a sale for R100 with a transaction fee of 2.30% (ex. VAT):

Yoco fee (2.30% ex. VAT) = R2,30
VAT on fee (15%) = R0,35
Total fee (incl. VAT) = R2,65
Payout total = R100 – R2,65 = R97,35

If you’re registered for VAT, you can claim it back from SARS.

💬 Core Plan FAQs

Who is the Core Plan best for? The Core Plan is best for businesses that are just starting out or are seasonal, and want a simple way to take payments without a monthly fee.

Is there a setup fee or connectivity fee on the Core Plan? No, there's no setup or connectivity fee for any of the Yoco Plans.

Can I use the Core Plan across multiple locations? No, the Core Plan doesn’t support multi-location merchants.

What does the Core Plan cost? There’s there’s no monthly subscription fee on the Core Plan.

Do I need to apply for the lower transaction fees once I reach R50 000 in sales per month? No, your transaction fees automatically decrease once your monthly sales go over R50 000 for three consecutive months.

What is Standard Support? Standard Support gives you access to Yoco’s support channels during standard operating hours, as well as 24/7 AI-enabled support.

When should I consider upgrading from the Core Plan to another Yoco Plan? You may want to upgrade to the Plus Plan or Pro Plan if you:

  • Add a second location

  • Want loyalty features to drive customer acquisition and retention

  • Reach a monthly transaction level where a paid plan could reduce your overall costs (e.g. by saving on transaction fees)

  • Need more advanced admin and operational tools

  • Require an accounting integration
