With Yoco, there are no lock-in contracts, rentals, or hidden fees – you only pay when you use our services. All fees exclude VAT, unless otherwise stated.

Yoco Plans

We offer a number of transparent pricing structures, which we call the Yoco Plans.

1. Original Plan

If you signed up with Yoco before 20 November 2023, you’re on the Original Plan – unless you're on a custom rate, in which case you’ll be on our Pro Plan.

✨ Find out more about our Original Plan.

2. Starter Plan

You’re on the Starter Plan if you signed up with Yoco under the Yoco Go Starter promotion, or you signed up without buying a card machine (online payments only), or you signed up with Yoco and took over ownership of a Yoco Go card machine.

💡 Good to know: If at any point you purchase a Yoco Khumo, Khumo Print or Neo Touch, you will automatically move from the Starter Plan to the Core Plan.

✨ Find out more about our Starter Plan.

3. Core Plan

You’re on the Core Plan if you signed up with Yoco on or after 20 November 2023, and you bought or took over ownership of one of the following card machines when you signed up:

  • Yoco Khumo

  • Yoco Khumo Print

  • Yoco Neo Touch

  • Yoco Counter

4. Pro Plan

If your business transacts more than R200 000 per month for three months in a row, you qualify for custom rates on our Pro Plan. This plan also includes 7-day-a-week support and a dedicated account manager.

Yoco fees

Depending on which plan you’re on, you may notice up to three types of fees on your monthly tax invoice – transaction fees, connectivity fees, and daily payout fees.

✨ Your monthly fees are reflected on your Yoco tax invoice. Click here to take a look at them.

Transaction fees

Transaction fees are calculated as a percentage of each transaction and are charged every time you accept a payment online or with your Yoco card machine.

For example, if your transaction rate is 2.95% excl. VAT (3.39% incl. VAT) and a customer pays R100 on your card machine, a transaction fee of R3,39 (incl. VAT) is automatically deducted and R96.61 is paid into your bank account.

💡 Good to know: By law, we are required to charge 15% VAT on our transaction fees. In line with industry standards, your transaction rates are referred to excluding VAT. If you’re registered for VAT, you can claim this back from SARS.

✨ Have you added your VAT number to your Yoco profile? This is critical to ensuring that the invoices and receipts you send to your customers, and the Yoco tax invoices we send you are correct. Quick, add your VAT number to your profile here!

Connectivity fees

Connectivity fees only apply to the Core Plan. If you’re on this plan (see point 3 above), you’ll be charged R49 (incl. VAT) per stand-alone Yoco card machine (Neo Touch, Khumo, Khumo Print) you transact with in a month.

The monthly connectivity fee includes:

  • Free SIM cards with unlimited 4G data for all your Yoco transactions.

  • Connection to our platforms and servers for processing transactions.

  • Free replacement SIM (if required).

If you don’t use your card machine in a specific month, you won’t be charged the connectivity fee.

Connectivity fee payment

The connectivity fee is deducted from your first payout in the month following the one in which you used your card machine. So, for example, if you used your card machine in January, the fee will be deducted from your first payout in February. If, however, your card machine is inactive in February, the connectivity fee will be carried over to the next month in which your device is active.

Once you’ve paid your connectivity fee(s) and your balance exceeds the minimum payout amount of R50, you’ll receive your first payout for the month.

Your connectivity fee will reflect on your Yoco tax invoice as shown below.

✨ Signed up mid-month? You’ll be charged a pro rata rate for the first month. For example, if you signed up on the 11th of January, R31.61 (20/31 * R49) will be deducted from your first payout in the month you next use your card machine.

Daily payout fees

We charge a R2.50 (incl. VAT) payout fee per day that you transact to cover the bank fees we pay on your behalf every time there’s a transaction on your account. The payout fee only applies to the Yoco Starter Plan and is deducted from your daily transactions before the balance is paid into your Yoco account. If you don't transact on a certain day, you won't be charged a payout fee.
