How to Use and Update your Business Profile in the Yoco App

Learn to use your business profile in the Yoco Mobile/Web App and discover how to update your details.

About your business profile

Your business profile has everything to do with setting up and running your business. It consists of business information that includes your business details, bank details, card machine details, and more.

To access your business profile, tap on your business name in the top right-hand corner of the Yoco Mobile App or click on it in the bottom left-hand corner of the Yoco Web App. Once you've selected your business profile, you’ll land on the Business settings page.

What can you do on the Business settings page in your business profile?

The Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App has a series of tiles that allows you to view and update your business details, edit your communications preferences, activate settings, manage your card machines, and more.

Let's take a closer look.

1. Price plan tile

The Price plan tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App displays your price plan details and fees, and includes your next payment date.

2. Business details tile

Select the Business details tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to view and change the following information:

  • Basic details: This is the information that appears on your receipts and invoices – your logo, trading name, registered name, phone number, business email and VAT number.

  • Trading addresses

  • Social media handles: Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter)

3. Bank details tile

Select the Bank details tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to view or change the details of the bank account linked to your Yoco profile and into which your Yoco payouts are made.

Please note: Changes to bank details must be verified before they will reflect in the Yoco App. Please allow at least 48 hours for verification (and check your inbox) before contacting our Support Team. In certain instances, additional documentation may be required to verify your bank details – this could result in longer verification times. A Yoco consultant will contact you directly to request the relevant documents, if necessary.

4. Communication preferences tile

Select the Communication preferences tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to manage how Yoco communicates with you and your staff and to add or edit who receives your Yoco reports.

5. Receipt settings tile

The Yoco receipt you send your customers after a successful payment displays your logo, basic business details, bank details, and social media handles. The Receipt settings tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App lets you preview your receipt and customise some of your receipt settings.

6. Tip settings tile

Select the Tip settings tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to manage how your business accepts tips from customers. Whichever tip setting you choose will be applied to all of your Yoco card machines and/or the Yoco POS App.

7. Payment methods tile

Select the Payment methods tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to choose or change the payment methods your customers can use when buying from your business. These payment methods are recorded in your Sales history.

Good to know: Card, payment link and cash are 'always on' as payment methods – you don't need to activate them.

8. Card machines tile

Select the Card machines tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to manage the Yoco card machine(s) linked to your profile – or to buy a new one.

9. Business referrals tile

Select the Business referrals tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to copy your referral link or download your referral QR code to earn rewards.

10. Tax invoices tile

Select the Tax Invoices tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to view and download your monthly tax invoices from Yoco. These tax invoices include a breakdown of all your sales, payouts and fees.

11. Fees tile

Select the Fees tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to see a breakdown of your business profile’s current Yoco fees.

Select the Trading hours tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to customise your trading hours for clearer reporting.

13. Get help tile

Select the Get help tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App or the blue chat icon in the bottom right corner of your screen to chat to a Yoco human for fast answers.

Select the Terms and conditions tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App to view our official and legal documents, including our Merchant T&Cs, card machine and SIM card policy, Privacy T&Cs, and more.

15. Platform status tile

Select the Platform status tile on the Business settings page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App for real-time notifications on any changes relating to our platform.


How to change your business details in the Yoco App

  • Updating your business details is always password protected.

  • Information may need to be verified before changes can be reflected.

  • Greyed out details require extra verification and can only be changed by contacting Yoco Support.

1. Changing your basic business details

  1. Log in to the Yoco Mobile/Web App.

  2. Select your business profile by tapping your business name in the top right-hand corner of the Yoco Mobile App or clicking on it in the bottom left-hand corner of the Yoco Web app.

  3. When the Business Settings page opens up, select the Business details tile.

  4. Select the Edit button next to the basic details section.

  5. When the screen slides up/in, make changes to any of the following business information:

  • Business logo

  • (Preferred) trading name

  • Telephone number

  • Email address

  • Registered VAT number

Good to know: Your VAT number is displayed on the receipts and invoices you send to your customers. Having the correct VAT number is critical for you and your customers to claim VAT in terms of the Value Added Tax Act, so check it carefully. Need to change your registered business name?

This can only be done by contacting Yoco Support and going through the verification process once again.

2. Changing your business trading address

  1. Log in to the Yoco Mobile/Web App.

  2. Select your business profile by tapping your business name in the top right-hand corner of the Yoco Mobile App or clicking on it in the bottom left-hand corner of the Yoco Web app.

  3. When the Business Settings page opens up, select the Business details tile.

  4. Click on the pencil icon next to the addresses section to change your trading address.

Need to change your registered trading address?

This change may require verification and we may ask for supporting documents. In some circumstances, your transactions or payouts could be paused for a limited period while this is processed.

3. Changing your business social media handles

  1. Log in to the Yoco Mobile/Web App.

  2. Select your business profile by tapping your business name in the top right-hand corner of the Yoco Mobile App or clicking on it in the bottom left-hand corner of the Yoco Web app.

  3. When the Business Settings page opens up, select the Business details tile.

  4. Click on the pencil icon next to the Social media section to change your social handles for Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). These social media handles appear in the Yoco receipt that you send your customers after a successful transaction.

Business profile details FAQs

Where will my business logo be displayed to customers?

The logo you upload to your Business details will be displayed on your Yoco receipts (sent to your customers after payment), your Yoco Invoices and all Yoco online payment link pages.

To preview each of these, click on Preview in each of these profile settings:


Where will the social handles in my business profile be publically displayed?

If you add social media handles on the Business details tile, they will appear in the Yoco receipt that you send your customers after they have successfully paid you.


Where will my VAT number be displayed?

Your VAT number is displayed on the receipts and invoices you send to your customers.


If I entered my VAT number incorrectly, will there be legal consequences for invoices I previously sent?

It's very important that you have the correct VAT number to enable you and your customers to claim VAT in terms of the Value Added Tax Act. If your VAT number is incorrect, it could impact any future claims or deductions.
