Before you start selling with Yoco, you'll need to sign up with Yoco and complete your Yoco profile. This lets you customise your settings and makes sure we can pay you out. Here's a look at your journey, from start to finish.
1. Sign up with Yoco
There are two quick and easy ways to sign up with Yoco:
Visit hello.yoco.com
Via the Yoco App (mobile or web)
Click on the relevant App Store below to download the Yoco Mobile App, and set yourself up to run your business on the go. Or use the Yoco Web App online (no download necessary).
Need help signing up? Follow our simple step-by-step guide.
2. Complete your Yoco profile
Once you've signed up with Yoco, you’ll be redirected to the Yoco App (mobile or web) to provide your business and personal information, and complete a few basic identity checks required by South African law.
The information you supply during this process will be used to create your Yoco profile and will be stored in the Business details and Personal details tiles/widgets in the Settings tab in the Yoco App (mobile or web).
❗Important: Only after your profile has been completed and your information verified, can you start transacting and getting paid with Yoco.
3. Link your card machine to your Yoco profile
Once your Yoco profile has been completed and verified, it’s time to link your card machine to your profile.
Need help setting up Yoco Counter? Follow our step-by-step guide here.
Go to the Settings tab – you'll find it at the bottom of the menu on the Yoco Web App, or in the top right corner of the Yoco Mobile App.
Select the Card machines tile/widget.
If you bought your card machine(s) through Yoco.com or the Yoco App (mobile or web), it will already be linked to your profile when it arrives. If you bought it from a retailer or second hand, you’ll need to add it to your profile manually by selecting the + Add card machine button and entering the serial number on the back of the device.
If you're adding a Khumo 2 card machine to your Yoco profile, you'll find the serial number inside the back cover (look under the battery) and on the box the device came in.
4. Set up your POS settings
Yoco receipts – Customise the receipts you send to customers
Tip settings – Set up tipping on your card machines and POS
Payment methods – Enable non-card payment methods like cash
You can update your business logo and social media handles by selecting the Business details tile/widget in the Settings tab. Find out more here.
5. Create your product catalogue
Adding products to the Yoco App (mobile or web) means you can tap to add items to a sale at checkout. Not only does this speed things up, it also gives you detailed reporting on product and category performance in your Reports Dashboard.

6. Create staff profiles
Creating staff profiles lets each member of your team log in to your Yoco card machines and POS App with their own account. Their sales are recorded under their name, which makes performance reporting more accurate and cash-ups at the end of a shift a lot faster.
There are two types of staff profiles which are decided by the user type you choose when you create your staff profiles:
PIN-only profiles are for staff members who need to log in to your card machine and/or point of sale setup and make sales – they have the most limited permission settings and are quick for managers to set up and switch during busy trade.
💡 Good to know: Only Administrators and Managers can add new staff members to your Yoco profile. Administrators can also add Managers, Supervisors and Custom user types.
