The Khumo and Khumo Print are our premium standalone card machines. If you’ve already set up your Khumo/Khumo Print, it’s time to get you selling – and with your new business partner, you can process a transaction in under three seconds!
✨ The Khumo/Khumo Print accepts all major cards, including American Express, via tap, chip, swipe, PIN, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
To tap: Tap the card on the back of the device.
To swipe: Use the slit at the top of the device.
For chip: Insert the card at the bottom of the device.
Complete a test transaction
The best way to get comfortable with your new Khumo/Khumo Print is to process a test transaction.
From the home screen, select New Sale.
Next, enter an amount and press the Charge button.
Tap your card to process the payment.
Select the grey Done button to complete the transaction.
Congratulations, you’re ready to start selling with your Khumo/Khumo Print!
Want to add a sales note to your next transaction?
When you’re making a sale on your Khumo/Khumo Print, you have the option of adding a sales note (e.g., an invoice number or your customer’s name) when you enter the transaction amount.
Select the Add note button on the payment screen.
Add the relevant information to your note.
Select the blue Save button.
How to complete a transaction using Products
If you’ve activated the Products sales tool on your Khumo/Khumo Print, you can access the product catalogue you created in the Yoco App (mobile or web) on your card machine. This means that instead of entering an amount on your Khumo/Khumo Print, you can select items from your product catalogue when you create a new sale. Here’s how.
Tap the blue New Sale button on your Khumo/Khumo Print home screen.
Select items from your product catalogue to create an order.
If you want to add a custom amount, tap the round, grey terminal icon in the bottom left corner of the New sale screen.
💡 Good to know: You can include items from your product catalogue and custom amounts on the same order – whatever works best for you and your business.
Once your order is complete, tap the blue button (showing the total order amount) at the bottom of the New Sale screen.
When the Order screen opens up, tap the blue Charge button.
Select the payment method – if you’ve activated the Cash Payments sales tool on your Khumo/Khumo Print, you’ll have the option of choosing cash or card.

Want to add a discount to your Products?
It’s easy to give your customers a discount on their entire order, or on individual items in their order, when you’re using Products on your Khumo/Khumo Print card machine.
How to give a discount on an entire order
Tap the plus sign next to Discount at the bottom of the Order screen.
Choose a set discount of 5%, 10% or 15% discount OR
Tap the Custom tile to enter a custom amount or percentage.
How to give a discount on individual items
Tap the three vertical dots to the right of the item you want to discount.
Tap the Add discount button.
Choose a set discount of 5%, 10% or 15% discount OR
Tap the Custom tile to enter a custom amount or percentage.

Custom payment methods
You can capture unique payment methods from QR codes to free gifts, and more on your Khumo/Khumo Print. Find out how to set up Custom Payment Methods in the Yoco App.
✨ Cash is ‘always on’ as a payment method in the Yoco App (mobile or web). If you’d like to accept cash payments, simply activate the Cash Payments sales tool on your Khumo/Khumo Print. Find out how here.
How to complete a cash payment
Tap the blue New sale button on the Khumo/Khumo Print home screen.
Enter the sale amount and tap the blue Charge button.
Select Cash as the payment method.
Enter the cash amount the customer has given you and tap the blue Pay button.
The amount of change owed will automatically be calculated.
Tap the Send receipt button if you would like to send the customer a receipt via email or SMS. If you're using the Khumo Print, you’ll also have the option of printing cash and itemised receipts.
Split payments
Splitting payments on your Khumo/Khumo Print card machine is quick and convenient – for you and your customers.
How to split a payment
Tap the Split bill button just below the bill total.
To add the first partial payment of the bill total, tap the blue Add payment button.
Select the first payment method.
Enter the first amount to be paid, and tap the blue Charge button.
If you select Card as the payment type, you'll be prompted to take payment on your card machine, followed by the option to enter a tip (if you've enabled this setting in the Yoco App) and send your customer a receipt via email or SMS.
Once you've accepted payment on your Khumo card machine, you'll see the payment reflected in your split bill breakdown in the Yoco POS App. Now, tap the blue Add payment button to process the next partial payment of the bill total.
When all payments are complete, tap the Close bill button to finalise the transaction.
Split payment interrupted? Don't worry, it's easy to save the order and come back to it later.
Saved orders
With the Khumo/Khumo Print, you can take orders tableside, save them, and settle the bill at your own pace.

How to save an order
On the Khumo/Khumo Print home screen, tap Saved orders.
If this is your first saved order, a 'No orders yet' message will display on the screen. Tap the blue New sale button to start an order.
Build your order by choosing items from your product catalogue and tapping the blue Add Items button to add them to the bill.
Process your order by selecting Charge to accept payment immediately, or Save to complete the payment later.
Enter a name for the sale (this is optional) to make it easier to find when you go back to it later. If you skip this step, an order number will be automatically generated. Next, tap the blue Save button to confirm. If you enter a name that's already in use, you'll be prompted to choose a different one.
To go back to a saved order, tap the Saved orders button on your Khumo home screen and a list of your saved orders will appear.
How to save an order during a split payment
Add the products/amount to an order and tap the grey Save button, instead of the blue Charge button.
Enter a name for the saved order and tap Save.
To go back to a saved order, tap Saved orders on your Khumo home screen and a list of your saved orders will appear.
Bills
How to print an itemised bill
An itemised bill, printed directly from your Khumo Print, gives your customers a clear breakdown of what they owe before they pay.
✨ Please Note: This feature is only available for standalone Khumo/Khumo Print card machines that are selling from a product catalogue.
Tap the New sale button on the Khumo Print home screen to start an order.
Build your order by choosing items from your product catalogue and tapping the blue Add Items button to add them to the bill.
Process your order by tapping the blue Charge button to accept payment.
Select Print bill from the New sale screen to print an itemised bill for your customer.
OR tap the three dots in the top right corner and select the Print bill button from the pop-up menu.
A message will appear confirming that the bill has printed successfully.
Receipts
Once you've processed a successful payment, you have the option to send a receipt to your customer via SMS or email or, if you have a Khumo Print, to print it out.
How to send a receipt via email or SMS
Once the payment has been approved, tap Get receipt.
Tap on SMS to enter the customer’s cellphone number and send their receipt via SMS, or tap Email and enter the customer’s email address to send their receipt via email.
How to print an itemised receipt
The Khumo Print gives you the option of printing out an itemised receipt – perfect for your records and convenient for customers who want to return an item at a later stage.

Once the payment has been approved, tap Get Receipt.
Tap the Print button to print a payment receipt for your customer, then tap the blue Done button.
Your Khumo Print will print a standard payment receipt.
When asked if you would like to ‘Print itemised receipt?’, tap the blue Print button.
Your Khumo Print will now print out an itemised receipt.
✨ You can print itemised receipts for all the payment methods you’ve enabled via the Yoco App (mobile or web) – not just card payments.
How to print an itemised receipt for split bills
With the Khumo Print, you can print out payment receipts and itemised receipts for split bills so that both customers have a record of their spend.
Once the first payment has been approved (find out how split a payment here), tap Get Receipt.
Next, tap the Print button to print a payment receipt for your customer, then tap the blue Done button.
Your Khumo Print will now print a payment receipt for the first payment.
Now press the blue Add payment button and complete the payment process for the second payment.
Once the second payment has been approved, tap Close bill.
Tap the Print button to print a payment receipt for your customer, then tap the blue Done button.
Your Khumo Print will now print a payment receipt for the second payment.
Sales History
How to access your Sales History
To access the Sales History on your Khumo/Khumo Print and check all the sales you've made by date, select the History tab on the home screen of your device.
You can also view your combined Yoco sales and manage your sales, in the Sales tab on the Yoco App (mobile or web). Here, you'll find a breakdown of your sales by date and time, as well as a summary of total sales and tips per day.
How to change printer settings
Your Khumo Print is set up to ask customers if they’d prefer a printed or digital receipt after they have made payment, but you can easily change the settings so that the device prints receipts automatically.
Select Settings (the gear icon) in the top left corner of the Khumo print home screen.
Select Printer Settings.
Select the Print automatically button.
🖨️ Need to reprint a receipt? Tap the History tab on the home screen, select the transaction you want to reprint a receipt for, then tap Print receipt. You can print receipts for refunded transactions in the same way.
How to change the paper roll
The Khumo Print comes with three standard 40 mm thermal paper rolls. Replacement rolls can be bought online and at stationery shops.
Release the printer cover by gently squeezing the tabs on either side of the top of the Khumo Print.
Place the paper roll inside the printer casing, making sure to feed it through the printer the right way around.
Click the printer cover back into place.
✨ Run out of paper during a transaction? You can print as many receipts as you need to at the end of each transaction. Just remember that once you’ve tapped Done, you’ll need to access the transaction through your Sales History to print a receipt.
