Before you start unboxing your Yoco Printer, make sure that your Yoco POS system and workspace are ready for a smooth setup.
Checklist
✔️ Complete your Yoco profile and set up your business on the Yoco App. If your profile is incomplete, you can finish it up here.
✔️ Make sure that you have the correct permissions to set up and manage printers. These permissions can be managed in the Yoco App.
✔️ Check that your Yoco POS App is set up.
✨ Location, location, location! Make sure that your printer is positioned near a power outlet, and within a few metres of your Yoco POS system.
Link your Printer with Yoco POS
Once you’re logged into the Yoco POS App, you’ll be guided through the setup steps. In case you missed them:
1. Log in to the Yoco POS App
Log in to the Yoco POS App on the Yoco Counter by entering your username (the email address or phone number linked to your Yoco profile) and the password you created for your Yoco profile.
Tap Printer, then select the blue Connect button.
2. Power on your printer
Connect the two power cables together, plug in the printer and turn it on.
You’ll hear a beep and see a green light when it’s ready.
💡Tips
Make sure that the flat side of the power cable faces downwards.
Use the volume control buttons to adjust alert sounds.
3. Load the paper
Open the printer cover and insert the paper roll with the paper feeding in from the top.
Close the cover securely. The red light will turn green once it’s properly loaded.
4. Choose your connection type
There are two ways to connect:
Via Bluetooth (recommended)
Through USB (only available with Yoco Counter)
Follow the instructions based on your choice.
Bluetooth (recommended)
Ensure that the printer and POS are within 10 metres of each other.
Select your printer and pair via Bluetooth.
Confirm the connection with a test receipt.
USB (only available with Yoco Counter)
Connect the USB cable from the back of the printer to your Yoco Counter setup.
Tap 'Ok' when prompted, and print a test receipt.
5. Automatic printing
Enable 'Automatically print order slips' if you want slips to print as orders are saved and updated.
Once your printer is connected, you’ll see its connection type on the Printers page. From here, you can print a test receipt, reconnect your printer if it disconnects, or remove it if needed.
💡Good to know: If your printer disconnects, check that it’s plugged in and turned on. Then, tap Reconnect on the Printers page in the Yoco POS App.
How to change your printer
Select the Delete icon next to the connected printer.
Select Confirm when prompted.
Follow steps 1–4 above to connect a new printer.
