If you're considering using the Yoco POS, you can now download the new POS App for free to streamline your sales. The Yoco Mobile/Web App is still where you can manage your Yoco profile, products, staff, and settings - and take your business to the next level with Yoco's online payments!

Now it's simple for your customers to support you whenever they can. Create your online Gift Voucher page in the Yoco Mobile/Web App, share it online, and sell them to your customers - anytime, anywhere. Now all that's left to do is look forward to when they redeem the voucher in person.

What do I need, to use Yoco Online Vouchers?

Currently, Yoco Vouchers can only be redeemed via the Yoco POS App when your customer visits you in-store. Get the free Yoco POS App here.


How can I send a Yoco Voucher?

  1. From your Yoco POS App, select the More tab.

  2. Select Share a voucher. This allows you to share your voucher page straight from your POS, or by tapping the Copy button and pasting to share with your customer however you prefer - via WhatsApp, SMS, Email, or any other messaging or social media platform.

  3. You can also get a preview of your vouchers page by selecting the View my vouchers page tile.

  4. Once you've shared your voucher, your customer will receive a secure voucher page payment link, on which they can choose the value of the voucher they would like to purchase and pay for, via online card payment. They will enter their card details to make the purchase, at which point you'll receive an online payment notification from Yoco and the amount will be added to your Yoco balance for payout processing (as per usual).

How can a customer redeem a gift voucher?

Once a customer buys a Gift Voucher from you, they are shown a unique voucher code after making the payment. They will also be emailed the voucher code automatically for safe storing. They can then visit your business and on checkout request to pay with the voucher code. The voucher amount will then be offset with the checkout amount and they can settle the balance by card or cash.


How do I process a payment with a gift voucher on the Yoco POS?

  1. Open your Yoco POS App and enter the checkout amount when you create a new sale.

  2. When finalising a bill, tap the Charge button and select Voucher as the payment method.

  3. Enter the customer's unique voucher code.
    โ€‹

  4. Finalise by hitting Pay.


Where can I see all my vouchers?

  1. From your Yoco POS App, select the More tab.

  2. Select Voucher history. This allows you to see all the POS sales that have been paid via Voucher, and how many vouchers have been purchased but not yet redeemed in-store.


Will my customers carry a balance on the gift voucher?

Yes. If the voucher amount exceeds the checkout amount, the Gift Voucher will carry the balance to be redeemed whenever they visit your business again. This means customers can support you now, and their balances are automatically tracked for them.


How do I know when a gift voucher is purchased?

Once you've shared your Gift Voucher link with your customers, you'll receive an email after every voucher purchase. This email will contain the voucher amount and the customer email address.


How long is a Gift Voucher valid for?

3 years from the date of purchase.


Can Gift Vouchers be redeemed with online purchases?

Currently, Gift Vouchers can only be redeemed in-store using the Yoco POS App at checkout. However, if a customer wants to redeem a voucher for an online purchase, they can send you their unique voucher code and you can accept it as a payment method for the goods ordered.


What are the transaction fees?

For online payments, our transaction fees range from 2.6% to 2.95% for Visa/Mastercard payments, and for international cards it ranges between 3% and 3.4% - depending on your turnover and fees package. Online payments incur a minimum fee of R2.26 per transaction. Instant EFT has a fixed 2% (ex VAT) fee - with same day settlement.

The more you transact, the less you pay.

How do I process refunds on Vouchers?

Go to the Sales History from the Yoco Mobile App or Web App. Identify the payment, click on it and select refund. Follow the prompts to use a secure refund PIN.

How do I get paid?

All online payments are linked to your existing Yoco profile, and money will be paid out within 2 business days as part of your usual payouts .
