Yoco and Xero Integration

Here's everything you need to know about the new Yoco and Xero integration.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Since retiring Yoco’s original integration with Xero Accounting Software in 2020, many of our merchants have requested a smoother way to sync their Yoco sales data with Xero – without the need for manual exports. We’ve listened, and the integration is once again available, this time with a powerful, seamless sync experience.

How does the integration benefit your business?

  • Your daily sales are automatically imported directly into your Xero general ledger.

  • Yoco sales flow into Xero in real time – no downloads, no spreadsheets, no sweat.

  • When you connect Yoco to Xero, bank rules are created for you, meaning that your payouts are automatically matched, and any Yoco fees are neatly separated into your fees account.

✨ If you’re already using Vend, Lightspeed, or Loyverse with Yoco and syncing that data to Xero, it remains business as usual – there’s no need for you to use this integration.

📈 Yoco and Xero Integration FAQs

Can businesses who currently use Xero (without Yoco) switch to Yoco?

Absolutely! Yoco can help your business sell products and/or services (raise and send invoices and receive payments), keep your records up to date, and take care of your external and internal (not for compliance) reporting. There are two options for businesses who currently use Xero without Yoco.

1. Businesses doing LESS than R200k per month in card volume

Switch to Yoco and enjoy these benefits of the Xero Promo Plan:

  • 1.95% flat rate on all in-person local debit and credit card payments.

  • Free next-day payouts by 8AM, incl. Sundays and public holidays.

  • Priority support – skip the queue when you need help.

  • R0 monthly fees for three months, then R499 per month thereafter.

2. Businesses doing MORE than R200k per month in card volume

Switch to Yoco and unlock even more value with the Yoco Pro Plan:

  • Custom low transaction rates tailored to your business.

  • Dedicated account manager for personalised premium support.

  • PLUS: All the benefits of the Xero Promo Plan (outlined above), incl. next-day payouts and access to new features.

Contact the Yoco Sales Team if you're ready to sign up for the Xero Promo Plan or Yoco Pro Plan.

Does the Yoco and Xero integration sync data by location? It isn’t possible to sync data separately by location (just yet). So, if your Yoco setup includes multiple locations, the integration via Amaka will group your transactions into a single summary, rather than location-by-location breakdowns, for now.

Can individual products and/or categories be synced to Xero?

Yoco’s API doesn’t currently support syncing individual products or categories to Xero, meaning that your sales data will show as summary-level totals, rather than detailed line items. So, for example, instead of seeing ‘Flat White x2’ and ‘Croissant x1’ on your Xero invoice, you’ll see the overall sales amount for the day.

Will Yoco Capital loans show up on a Xero invoice?

If you have an active Yoco Capital loan (which is paid back through via daily settlements), the data won’t be included in the sync to Xero just yet. For now, you’ll need to track repayments or loan balances manually.

How will Yoco refunds reflect in Xero?

Yoco’s API doesn’t (yet) allow Amaka to reliably connect refunds to their original sales line items. This means that if you issue multiple refunds, they’ll show up as separate entries – and they won’t be linked to the specific items sold.
