How do I get Apple Pay with Yoco on my online payments?

If you’re using any of Yoco's online products, like Payment Link, Payment Page, Invoices, Gateway, or the Checkout API, there’s no need to take any additional steps to activate Apple Pay. Apple Pay will seamlessly appear as a payment option at Yoco's checkout without any further action required on your part.


How will my customers pay using Apple Pay with Yoco?

When your customers choose to pay with Apple Pay, they’ll have a smooth and secure experience:

  1. Selecting Apple Pay: During checkout, customers will choose the Apple Pay option.

  2. Authentication: Depending on their device, they’ll use either Touch ID or Face ID to verify the transaction.

  3. Payment Confirmation: Once authenticated, the payment is confirmed, and the order is placed.


What devices, browsers and countries does Apple Pay support?

What will I be charged for using Apple Pay with Yoco?

Apple Pay will have the same transaction fees as all online payments.

Our integration seamlessly supports the following card networks through Apple Pay: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.


Does Apple Pay support 3DS?

Apple Pay provides robust support for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) as it inherently incorporates authentication measures within its payment flows, using biometric verification or password entry as needed.

Troubleshooting FAQs

Can I use Apple Pay to take payments on the Yoco App?

No, unfortunately the Yoco App is not able to accept Apple Pay transactions.

Are there any Yoco online payment methods that don’t support Apple Pay?

Yes, the outdated Thrive and BlackBird APIs won’t have Apple Pay available.

My customer is getting an error when paying with Apple Pay - what now?

Please ask your customer to try using a different card or contacting their card issuer for assistance. It could mean that their bank account or card are not Apple Pay eligible, or they may be trying to make payment on an older device that doesn’t support Apple Pay.

My customers can’t see Apple Pay at checkout - what could be the reason?

Please make sure that your customers are using an Apple device and web browser compatible with Apple Pay (like Safari) and are located in a supported country.
