How Customers can Opt in to Smart Receipts

Find out how your customers can opt in to receive automatic receipts – and opt out if needed.

Smart receipts make checkout faster and more convenient for your customers. Once they opt in, their receipts are automatically sent to their phone or inbox every time they tap to pay on any Yoco device. No printing, no delays – just a smoother experience for everyone.

Opting in via SMS

  1. Your customer taps to pay on your Yoco card machine, and chooses to have the receipt sent to them via SMS.

  2. When the receipt notification pops up on their mobile phone, they tap to view the receipt, then select the Opt in button on the mobile banner.

  3. Depending on which channel(s) they would like the receipt (and all future receipts) to be sent to, they enter their email address or mobile number, or both.

  4. Next time your customer pays with their card on any Yoco device, we'll SMS them their receipt automatically based on their bank card details.

✨ To unsubscribe from Smart Receipts, your customer simply selects the Opt out of Smart Receipts button in any recent Yoco receipt.


Opting in via email

  1. Your customer taps to pay on your Yoco card machine, and chooses to have the receipt sent to them via email.

  2. When the receipt notification pops up on their inbox, they tap to view the receipt, then select the Opt in button on the email banner.

  3. Depending on which channel(s) they would like the receipt (and all future receipts) to be sent to, they enter their email address or mobile number, or both.

  4. Next time your customer pays with their card on any Yoco device, we'll email them their receipt automatically based on their bank card details.
