How (and Where) to Download a Bank Confirmation Letter

Find out how to download a bank confirmation letter so you can complete your Yoco Profile and get paid with Yoco.

Depending on your business type, you may need to provide us with a bank confirmation letter once you’ve signed up with Yoco and are in the process of completing your Yoco profile, so that you can start taking payments.

Bank confirmation letters are digitally certified, issued on an official letterhead, and include:

  • Date of issue.

  • Client's name and identity number/company name and company registration number.

  • Account details: account type, account number, branch name, and branch code.

  • Confirmation that the account exists and is active.

  • Details of when the account was opened (if applicable).

Downloading a bank confirmation letter

To download a bank confirmation letter, please follow the steps for your specific bank below.


Absa Bank


Absa Bank App

  1. Log in to the Absa Banking App.

  2. Tap Menu (bottom right).

  3. Select Documents → Bank Confirmation Letter.

  4. Choose the account you need a bank confirmation letter for.

  5. Accept the verification request on your device.

  6. Tap Download.

Absa Bank Website

  1. Go to the Accounts tab.

  2. Choose the account you need a bank confirmation letter for.

  3. Select Bank Confirmation Letter.

  4. Accept the verification request sent to your phone.

  5. Select View, then download or print the PDF.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).

Capitec


Capitec App

  1. Log in to the Capitec Banking App.

  2. Select the account you need a bank confirmation letter for.

  3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.

  4. Select Share proof of account.

  5. Choose whether to save the PDF to your device or email it.

  6. If emailing, confirm the email address and accept the agreement, then tap Send.

Capitec USSD

  1. Dial *120*3279# on your cellphone.

  2. Enter your Remote PIN to sign in.

  3. Select option 10 (More).

  4. Select option 2 (Send Account Details).

  5. Choose the account you need a bank confirmation letter for.

  6. Select email and enter your email address.

  7. Follow the prompts to confirm and send.

  8. Check your inbox for the email.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).

Discovery Bank


Discovery Bank App

  1. Log in to the Discovery Bank App.

  2. Tap More on the bottom-right of your screen.

  3. Choose Other documents, then select Account Confirmation Letters.

  4. Select the account you need a confirmation letter for.

  5. Download the letter to your device.

Discovery Bank Website

  1. Find the account you need a confirmation letter for on the Accounts page.

  2. Select Download Confirmation Letter.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).

First National Bank


FNB App

  1. Log in to the FNB Banking App.

  2. Select Accounts from the main dashboard.

  3. Select the account you need a bank confirmation letter for.

  4. Tap the Account Options or the three-dot menu icon.

  5. Select Account Confirmation Letter from the list.

  6. Select the download icon to save it as a PDF, or choose to email or share it.

FNB Website

  1. Select My Bank Accounts, then choose the account you need verified.

  2. Select the account for which you need the confirmation letter.

  3. Select Account to verify and choose the Settings option.

  4. Select the Bank Letters option.

  5. Select Account Confirmation Letter and download the letter.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).

Nedbank


Nedbank App

  1. Log into the Nedbank Money App.

  2. Select the account you need a confirmation letter for.

  3. Tap on Documents or Features.

  4. Select Account Confirmation Letter (or Share Account Information) and send it directly to your email.

Nedbank Website

  1. Select Accounts and choose the account you need a confirmation letter for.

  2. Select Statements and documents located under the Features section.

  3. Select Share Account Information or Download Account Confirmation Letter and route it to your email or download it as a PDF.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).

Standard Bank


Standard Bank App

  1. Log in to the Standard Bank App.

  2. Select the account you need a confirmation letter for.

  3. Tap the arrow next to your cards (top right corner) and select Details.

  4. Scroll down and tap Your documents.

  5. Look for Bank account confirmation letter and tap the three dots next to it.

  6. Choose View and save to download the document or Send as email.

Standard Bank Website

  1. Select the account you need a confirmation letter for.

  2. Scroll down to the Your documents tab and select View.

  3. Locate Bank account confirmation letter.

  4. Select the three dots and choose to download the letter to your device or email it.

Once you've downloaded your bank letter, please upload it in the Bank Details task in the Yoco App (mobile or web).
